AI Student Discounts: Free Access, Trials & Eligibility

Looking for an AI student discount? Start with the provider’s education program, not a coupon code. Verified students can qualify for free GitHub Copilot access, eligible US higher-education students can apply for a limited-time Google AI Pro trial, and some other tools show student offers in their own checkout. These are different types of savings, with different rules.

This guide compares official options for US students and explains how to check an AI discount for students without confusing a free trial, an education workspace, or a general promotion with a permanent student price. Official sources checked October 18, 2026. Eligibility and availability can change; the provider’s live terms and checkout take precedence.

AI student offers at a glance

Tool	Offer type	Who should check it	Important limitation
GitHub Copilot	Free student access	Students verified through GitHub Education	Verification and Copilot activation are separate; eligibility is reevaluated monthly.
Google AI Pro	12-month student trial at no cost	Eligible US higher-education students, age 18 or older	Current offer must be redeemed by December 31, 2026. A qualifying payment method is required; standard billing can follow the trial.
CapCut Pro	Account- and region-dependent student offers	Students checking the Pro plans page in their account	No universal US student rate is confirmed here. Use the offer displayed to you, if applicable.
Notion	Free education workspace; not a paid AI discount	Eligible individual students and educators with an institution email	The individual education workspace has a one-member limit. Free and Plus plans list a Notion AI trial, not unrestricted paid AI access.

GitHub Copilot: free access for verified students

GitHub’s official documentation says verified students on GitHub Education get free access to Copilot’s features. This is student access rather than a percentage-off coupon, and GitHub reevaluates eligibility every month.

1. Open your GitHub Education benefits.
2. If you are not verified yet, start the student application and complete verification.
3. After verification, follow the Copilot activation steps in your benefits account. Approval for education benefits alone is not the same as enabling Copilot.

Read the official Copilot student setup guide for the current process and the individual plan documentation for included features and limits. Free access does not mean every feature has unlimited usage.

Google AI Pro: a time-limited US student trial

Google’s student-offer help page currently lists a 12-month Google AI Pro trial at no cost for eligible US students. The linked offer terms require redemption by December 31, 2026. Do not assume the offer remains available after that deadline.

Requirements include being at least 18, enrollment at an eligible higher-education institution, successful SheerID student verification, a personal Google Account, and a qualifying payment method at sign-up. Family-group membership and some third-party subscriptions can affect eligibility; read the full exclusions before applying.

Start with Google’s official student-offer help page and check the offer terms, deadline, and cancellation rules. At the end of the offer period, standard monthly charges apply unless canceled, subject to the consent rules described in those terms. Check your account’s renewal date and price before you enroll.

CapCut student discounts: check your own Pro plans

CapCut already has a dedicated student-discount guide on this site. For current availability, CapCut’s official subscription instructions say that regional offers or student discounts appear on the Pro plans page if applicable. That wording is not a guarantee of a student offer in every US account.

Follow CapCut’s official Pro subscription instructions and compare the offer shown when you sign in. Confirm the billing period, eligibility, final price, and renewal terms. A general new-customer promotion should not be treated as a student-only discount.

Notion education access is not the same as free Notion AI

Notion offers a free individual Education Plan for eligible students and teachers using an education institution’s email. The individual workspace has a one-member limit; student organizations have a separate application-based option.

The distinction matters if you are shopping specifically for AI: Notion’s pricing page lists a trial of Notion AI on Free and Plus plans. Do not interpret the education workspace as unrestricted access to a paid AI subscription. Check Notion’s education eligibility and current AI inclusions before choosing a plan.

How to compare an AI discount for students

• Identify the offer type. A student-only price requires eligibility; a public coupon may be open to anyone; a trial ends; a free tier has its own limits.
• Verify on the provider’s website. Follow official education links and submit student information only through the provider’s stated verification process.
• Check the whole cost. Compare the total billing period, taxes where applicable, payment requirements, and the price after a trial or promotional period.
• Read the limits. AI requests, premium features, storage, and workspace membership can be restricted even when access is free.
• Check your school first. Your institution may already supply access. Ask its IT or library team before paying for a second subscription.
• Use AI within your course rules. Access to an AI tool does not establish permission to use it in an assignment.

Student-discount questions

Is there one AI student discount code for every tool?

No single code is established by the programs above. Each provider handles its own student eligibility, activation, and billing. For verified student programs, start with the official application rather than trying unrelated coupon codes.

Do I always need a .edu email address?

Requirements differ. Google uses SheerID verification, GitHub uses its Education application, and Notion requires a qualifying education institution email. A particular email suffix alone does not prove eligibility for every service.

Can I combine a student offer with another coupon?

Do not assume offers stack. Check the provider’s terms and the final checkout price; this guide does not promise that a public coupon can be added to an education offer.

Where can I find more tool-specific offers?

Browse our student-discount articles, student coupon listings, or AI deals directory. Those listings can include general promotions as well as student offers: confirm the provider’s current terms before relying on a percentage, price, or code.
